The Lost Art of the Postcard

I have always had a soft spot for personal correspondences. I try to write as many letters as I can, when postage permits me to, but the idea of sending a postcard is as familiar as taking off your cap when in the presence of a lady. It is almost a foreign letter. Well, I give you a little homage to that which is foreign yet in its content so familiar.

Obsession | Money

When looking to update my websites all too amateur design I came across these. Vintage banknotes for far more than they were originally worth. So a two dollar bill can be worth $93.00 in less than 100 years, I should definitely start a savings account...under my bed of the oldest bill I can find but I probably shouldn't have said that. Anyway I'm not hear to talk about the worth of a vintage bank not but the beautiful design that once went into them rather than the color and randomly placed numbers and hidden pictures though those are cool and all.

The history of the United States currency is a long and grueling one with the gold and silver standard being pegged and unpegged to the paper currency. But the history of the design is of an unknown nature to me though I wish I knew more. So fill me in if you know anything. Check out the beauty.

Summer Obsession | The Button-down Shirt

When summer rolls around, especially in the unforgiving Southern California desert, the amount of clothing one wants to wear becomes minimal. The fabrics become thinner and less, socks become non-existent and pants get shorter or become shorts. So, when I am looking for the perfect outfit it will always consist of rolled up chinos or jeans like my new lightweight Acne beige Bin chinos, sockless Vans Authentics, and my obsession for every summer; a button-up shirt. A few of the favorites are the Steven Alan single needle plaid shirts, the Gitman Bros. Vintage long sleeve blue oxford and any plaid shirt, and the Nom de Guerre Officer Desert Corp Shirt in Grey. All are good options to keep your cool and can be used in colder weather as well since all are equipped with long sleeves.
